Prototypes for Every Design Stage

We support the entire design validation process, from rough mockups to production-quality units.

"Looks-Like" Appearance Models

These are high-fidelity visual prototypes focused on aesthetics. They are used to evaluate the form, color, texture, and overall feel of a product. We use SLA 3D printing for its smooth surface finish as a base, followed by our expert finishing team who meticulously sand, prime, paint, and apply graphics to create a model that is indistinguishable from a final product.

"Works-Like" Functional Prototypes

These prototypes are focused on testing the product's function and durability. They are typically made from more robust materials using CNC machining or SLS 3D printing. These models allow you to test mechanical assemblies, electronics fitment, and overall product integrity before committing to expensive production tooling.

Our Toolbox for Designers

  • SLA 3D Printing: The perfect starting point for appearance models due to its high detail and smooth finish.
  • Expert Finishing: Our skilled model makers provide Class-A painting, color matching (RAL/Pantone), texturing, and application of logos and graphics.
  • CNC Machining: Create robust prototypes from real production materials like ABS, Polycarbonate, and Aluminum.
  • Clear Part Prototyping: We CNC machine and polish acrylic (PMMA) or use clear SLA resins to create optically clear lenses, light pipes, and windows.

Industrial Design FAQ

Can you match the exact CMF (Color, Material, Finish) intent of my design?

Yes, this is our specialty. By providing RAL or Pantone color codes and specifying the desired gloss level and texture, our finishing team can precisely match your CMF specifications to create a truly representative prototype.

How do I ensure my design is kept confidential?

We work with innovative companies every day and understand the importance of intellectual property. We are happy to review and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before you share any sensitive project files.

What is the best way to make a prototype with a soft-touch feel?

There are two excellent options. We can apply a soft-touch paint to a rigid prototype (made with SLA or CNC). For a more durable, production-like feel, we can use overmolding, where we mold a flexible TPE material directly onto a rigid substrate.
